The Canon EOS 5D digital SLR camera is, without a doubt, the most advanced model on the market. Voted “Best D-SLR Professional Camera 2006” by the TIPA (Technical Image Press Association) and “Best European Professional Camera 2006/2007” at the EISA awards (European Imaging Sound and Association), the EOS 5D is the digital version of the famous EOS 3 and EOS 5 traditional cameras.
The EOS 5D has been designed for experienced photographers who want to try their hand at digital photography, as its magnesium alloy body allows for all the framing possibilities of a traditional reflex camera.
The EOS 5D is a top-of-the-range camera that includes the latest advances in digital photography. It has a 12.8-megapixel full frame CMOS sensor, which allows you to capture subtle nuances of light, while its burst mode takes up to 3 photos per second in JPEG format. Its sophisticated 9-point AF system, together with the 6 Assist AF points situated inside the spot metering circle, improve the camera’s performances when you’re taking photos of moving subjects. Meanwhile, thanks to the 2.5” LCD screen (230,000 pixels), you’ll be able to monitor your shots and navigate through the camera’s menus easily. Colour matrix and adjustment settings have been replaced by Canon’s new Picture Style colour control, which is based on 6 presets to improve results by allowing the user to directly apply the desired effect to his photos; while photo contrast, sharpness, tint or colour saturation can be selected using the C button. The EOS 5D is supplied without a lens.
