This lens integrates Nikon's second generation vibration reduction system (VR II), facilitating the shooting without tripod. You also have the possibility of a 4 times slower closing time than with standard lenses without VR in order to obtain stable pictures.
The SWM motor (Silent Wave Motor) and the internal focus (IF) guarantee a silent focussing and the change from autofocus to manual one can be done instantaneously. A circular diaphragm with 9 lamellas offers an even more natural restitution of the un-focussed elements.
The optical performances will benefit of the advantages of a ED (Extra low Dispersion) lens out of glass, diminishing the chromatic aberrations, as well as the nanocrystal treatment reducing the parasite images.
