The large screen yet ultra-thin nüvi1490T offers multiple-point routing to make your journey – anywhere in Europe – as easy as possible. It has Lane Assist and Junction View for supreme route awareness. It includes Bluetooth wireless technology for hands-free phone calling, pan-European premium traffic avoidance and ecoRoute to calculate a more fuel-efficient route. Nüvi 1490T's slim pocket design means you can take it anywhere. The 12.7 cm (5 in) screen means it is even easier to see where you are going. Use to its full potential by downloading cityXplorer to navigate selected cities via trains, tubes or buses as well as on foot. Add an AA City Guide for your chosen city to find out about all attractions and places to eat, stay and shop.

Plan Ahead

Nüvi 1490T includes advanced navigation features to take the worry out of travelling. With route planning, you can save 10 routes, specify via points and preview simulated turns on the 1490T's large screen. In addition, nüvi 1490T automatically sorts multiple destinations to provide an efficient route for errands, deliveries or sales calls. A trip log provides an electronic bread crumb trail of up to 10,000 points, so you can see where you've been on the map.

Keep your eyes on the road and both hands on the wheel with nüvi 1490T's integrated Bluetooth wireless technology, microphone and speaker. Simply pair with your compatible mobile phone and talk hands-free through the nüvi.

Supreme Route Awareness

Avoid last-minute lane changes with Lane Assist. It shows you the correct lane to be in for upcoming junctions, giving you supreme route awareness. Junction view shows you realistic pictures of junctions and exits up ahead so you get a clear idea of your next manoeuvre well in advance.

Traffic Alerts

Not every traffic service is equal. With Garmin, you'll always know what lies ahead. And it's subscription-free, for life. Based on Trafficmaster data, there is extensive coverage of the road network (100 percent on motorways in England, Scotland and Wales). Know how long you'll be held up, and choose to be routed around the queues. There is pan-European coverage on selected sat navs.

Unique Speed Cameras

Garmin contains the unique Cyclops speed camera warning system, which delivers reliable, accurate and direction-relevant alerts across Europe. nüvi 1490T knows the locations of fixed, average speed, mobile and temporary cameras, and Cyclops constantly tracks camera locations and updates its central database daily. You can add an optional annual subsciption for these speed camera updates for confidence you're travelling with the very latest picture of cameras on your route.

Ultimate Simplicity

Nüvi 1490T has a simple, intuitive menu. Just touch the screen to look up addresses and get turn-by-turn directions. nüvi announces street names before you make a turn – e.g. "Turn right into Dell Road" so you can keep your eyes on the road at all times.
