CANON EOS 400D

I have been a 35mm slr fan for many years and my first venture into digital photography was via the Canon Ixus. I was pleased with the results and the flexibility that the digital medium allows for creative photography.

My old 35mm system is Nikon and, when I decided to go digital slr, I seriously considered staying with Nikon. However, when I discovered that my old lenses were not AF-compatible, I investigated all options and decided that this camera provided the best all-round value-for-money without losing out on technical performance.

I love the feel and the weight of the body and find the menu and photographic options remarkably easy to navigate and use. I added the Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM lens and have produced such good photos that my next purchase will be short tele-photo upgrade to enhance my overall system.

OK, I miss the action and sound of the 35mm film wind-on, but not as much as I had envisioned. This camera has replaced my Nikon FE as my automatic choice for all photography opportunities. An outstanding piece of equipment that is a pleasure to use and which produces results that you can depend on - constantly.
