Simplicity itself to set this up - plug 'n' play perfection (on a PC, a little more work is needed for a Mac). It has been working just fine since I got it, but that was just a week ago. A proper time to review this device would be after 6 months or more of use, so I can't go higher than 8 out of 10 at the moment. But it's quiet, silent almost except for a little vibration when running, seems of decent build quality and it's black. Odd L-shaped plug and adapter arrangement that won't fit as is into a regular wall socket, but easily solved by plugging this into the top socket of a second regular square-shaped 2 or 3-way adapter first. |

For me, no IT expert, the WD 1TB external hard drive was an affordable, simple to set up and operate device. It looks good, works well and as far as I know - fast. It certainly meets my current needs.

THis Bios problem caused me to wonder what had happened to my PC. Until I realised the Boot Up was not fully functional. Taking the USB cable out of the back of the HArd Drive and restarting there was no problem. So at present the Hard drive is not operational whilst Iuse my computer normally. Then I can go to the drive when booted up and use it ok. |

When this hard drive arrived I was a little concerned because there didn't seem to be much in the way of instructions (a few diagrams), but you don't need any! Plug drive into electricity socket, plug into PC and away you go. So simple I couldn't believe it.
