The DWA-142 RangeBooster N USB 2.0 adapter is a draft 802.11n client device that delivers real world performance gains. It is faster than 802.11g wireless adapters with the added benefit of portability between notebooks and desktop PCs. A USB cable is supplied, which allows the position of the adapter to be adjusted for convenience and to gain maximum levels of reception.

Powered by RangeBooster N technology, this adapter provides wireless coverage that is up to 4 times farther than 802.11g. With raw data throughputs of up to 300Mbps, this high performance wireless adapter is designed for use in bigger homes and for users that demand higher networking performance. Wireless performance will be maximized by connecting this adapter to a RangeBooster N router or Access Point so users can stay connected from virtually anywhere in their home. It can also be used with 802.11g and 802.11b wireless networks to enable significantly improved reception. This adapter supports WPA/WPA2 security and WEP data encryption to help prevent outside intrusion and protect personal information.
