From the minute I got this in my grubby little hands I could not wait to start to play with it. It comes out of the box in demo mode and it shows you all the icons of different devices. Once you have stopped staring at it its time to programme it. I was expecting an hour sat there scratching my head wondering what the hell I had done, BUT that was not the case. I had My TV, SKY+, DVD Player and AMP all set up in 10 minutes. Its so easy its untrue! One of my devices didn't work with the code supplied but it has a search button so you can search for the correct code. Again this was easy and took no time at all.
The back light is great in the dark but can also be easily seen in daylight as well. You can tell which device the controller is currently on by an animated icon and it only shows the buttons required for each device.
I also managed to programme it so the volume only controlled my AMP so no matter what device I was on the volume still worked on the AMP. This can be set up to any device (most people would have it on TV). I also set it up so TV, Sky+ and the amp all get switched off/on with a single press of a button.

All in all I am very happy with it and can't wait to play around with the macro facility some more.

Looks great and is so easy to set up.

A bit on the large side for some people.

I have just purchased the Kameleon UCR 8308 after reading several positive review and one negative (it seems this individual had not taken the time to set it up properly).
I have programmed a Sony Bravia Digital TV, DVD / HDD Freeview recorder, Sky & a surround sound entertainment unit with not one problem. This took barely half an hour once I had worked out the set up. Although not all buttons are available the learn command is unique where you can add any extra buttons on the 8308 by selecting which button you wish to programme and pointing and pressing the appropriate button on the other remote to the sensor. This makes the 8308 stand out with extra features that Digital TV's have these days i.e.: Sound settings & picture format settings. All I have to do now is programme the home stereo and 5 in one for now and it couldn't have been easier.
I have had all in one's before but nothing compares to the Kameleon, what an awesome bit of kit!

Fully versatile and encompassed every electrical item I wished to program. The learn command proved invaluable with the extra buttons on my Digital TV

Allthough able to set device buttons to other devices, i.e. CD icon to 2nd TV settings, you can not change the icon in the top display.

Lost track of the remote control of your tv set, dvd recorder, vcr, pvr, automatic lights? The Kameleon UR8308 universal remote can take their place. There are five ways to program the Kameleon, even via the internet or by phone. It take a lot of batteries (four) and I'm not sure how long they last. The alloy casing is bulky and very smooth - maybe too smooth, because it slips easily from your hand. Its looks are stunning: you feel like Captain Kirk commanding the SS Enterprise. 'What's that doctor Spock?' 'A remote control, but not as we know it, captain.' As universal remote controls go, you can't go amiss with the Kameleon.

Looks stunning, covers a wide selection of devices

Slips easily from your hand, bulky
