NOKIA 6300

For anyone who wants a mobile phone that does the basics well and avoids the gimmicks, you can't get much better than this. I bought one to replace a Sony W810i to use primarily as a business phone and have been surprised by how well I like it.

The Nokia is well built with a metal casing and the screen is superb with excellent colour reproduction and resolution.

The software (Series 40) is intuitive and very customisable, with a vast array of themes available (including an iPhone version if you search the web). The email client is particularly good compared to previous Nokias, and while it can play MP3 and FM it does it in an understated way. No silly music control buttons on the case to clutter the design. The Nokia PC Suite also means it can sync with your calendar and to-do-lists in Outlook.

The battery and camera performance are below par in my personal experience, but those are minor in comparison to the plus points and not bad enough to hinder normal operation. Call clarity is good and reception seems as good as any other phone.

All in - a very good phone from Nokia.
