I do not have great experience with video cameras, but the quaity of video is certainly not lacking. The sound from the internal mic is great. It even has image stabilization - which I certainly appreciate and hadn't even considered as useful. I use it on max. quality which gets about 75min on 2Gb. There is a full res setting that increases compression too. You can take stills from the video at a low resolution (640 x 480 I think - still look fine though), or you can push the 'photo' button to take a much higher quality still whilst recording video, or you can take very high res stills in camera mode. The stills are as good as any other point-and-shoot as far as I can tell (that is to say, very good). Has a genuine optical zoom too. It is only slightly larger than a mobile phone or an average stills camera - it fits in a trouser pocket or handbag easily. One button for video, one button for stills, one button for 'view photos/videos' and a joystick for the menu/navigation functions. Very easy to use. Has a very quick start-up when you flip open the view finder (does not have a 'window' style view finder). Has a plastic main body with a metal view finder section - feels good and solid. The battery charges very quickly (15 mins-ish) too, and seems to last pretty well. I bought it to take video of our new baby and now we don't need our 3-year old digital camera any more. The ONLY thing I would like added is a variable zoom speed, other than that it does everything I want, AND it is a very good stills camera. I would certainly recommend it highly to anyone who was looking to buy a good priced video camera of any technology.

It is so small you can take it anywhere without worrying that it is going to be bulky and get in the way.

Has a few quirks, like fixed zoom speed and an odd image resize (gives you more picture) when taking still photos.
