Logitech Z-5500 5.1 Speaker System

I was looking for a set of powerful speakers to replace my cheap logitech ones that came with the PC i bought. I was stuck between these and a set of 2.1 Bose speakers that simulate 5.1 surround sound, in the end after listening to both sets of speakers the Logitech Z5500 were a clear winner for me, the bass is VERY powerful and brings games, music (especially rock music which benefits from the heavy bass) and movies to life, explosions sound like they are outside your window and music sounds like its being played live! :)

A few words of warning however, you cannot comprehend the size of the subwoofer until you unpackage the speakers, it is HUGE and you do really need to plan where to have the subwoofer before you buy it. I do however not agree with what is said about having to keep the subwoofer away from any electrical devices due to the strong magnets, i have had the subwoofer next to my computer, ipod, portable hard drive etc since march 2010 and had no problems (although may want to keep any grandparents with pacemakers away from it )
Also the speakers are INCREDIBLY loud, do not do what i did and whack the speakers up to 75% upon setting them up, neighbors do not appreciate having there ears bleeding (also that reminds me, do not keep next to walls if there are neighbors other side, you do not realise how loud they are until you are out of the room), i never turn the speakers up more than 25% as they are next to my desk.

So if you are looking for some powerful speakers that are perfect for movies, music and games then these speakers are well worth the money.

this is what im looking for maybe since i was born:D...its the most powerful speaker system what i ever heard in my life realy.if u want a premium sound buy it dont hesitate...the price is good no worries about it ;)

After many years of different systems I can honestly say this system is just truly amazing... The highs are high and the lows are low but the actual sound is something to behold. I checked several other units out but this always topped the list and eventually I took the plunge and I shall be eternally grateful that I chose this one.

If your considering this also then I say go for it because you will love It.

from the music to the games it all sounds bliss..

The first impression I had was that the pictures do very little to demonstrate just how big the sub woofer is. I had to reorganise my living room to accommodate this thing and it doesn't help that it comes with a warning not to place any other electrical items within 2 feet due to its strong internal magnets.

That said, this is a great system. It obviously will depend greatly on what sort of input you're providing though the Dolby Pro Logic II modes (movie & music) do a good job in giving stereo sources the home theatre treatment. I use this mainly for watching TV on Vista Media Centre.

From my experience with using the 6 channel direct input with a 5.1 input from my PC's sound card, movies sound great with highs, mids, and lows all at great quality.

You can independently set the volume on the centre, surround and sub from the remote which is great for fine tuning.

My only complaint is the rather basic control interface and menu system which does not match the styling of the components or the sound being produced.

I have test this speak, it produces a extremely heavy bass, my wall seems to be broken, It is really a remarkable and irresistable speaker that I've ever seen so far. Trust me, if you are a Gamer; a Movie Watcher and a Bass listener, this would be the COMPULSORY choice for you!!!
