KENWOOD 0W-FP980-001 Food Processor - Brushed Metal

For a top of the range food processor, you would struggle to find better.

Sleek and sturdy, it looks great crouching there on your work surface ready to julienne your vegetables, blend your coulee or knock up a quick smoothie.

The brushed metal finish allow it go well with any kitchen and quite bewildering array of 'extras' you get with the FP980 mean that there really isn't any job the machine can't handle.

From mixing dough to blending soups to liquidizing to vegetable crunching of all kinds, the Kenwood seems to do it well.

Every conceivable blade seems to have been included along with a natty little nut/coffee grinder and a large perspex box to keep it all in.

2 extra points to make that were killer features for a gadget head like me were the inbuilt scales (SO handy) and the clever little lid you can put in the largest of the 3 bowls that stop a full 3L of soup spilling over the edge when you blend it. Nice touches.

It only loses 1 point - and that for the sheer amount of stuff you get. I nearly had a heart attack when the box was delivered - it was ENORMOUS! OK, once unpacked all that cardboard gets recycled, but you really do need a whole cupboard to keep it in - and I am not joking. The pretty unit might stay out in sight, but the perspex box for the blades, the liquidizer, the clever lid and grinder all need storage too. Great if you have acres of surface, but if not, be ready to make plenty of room!

This machine is almost perfect. It has 3 mixing bowls which can be stored easily within each other. There is a separate storage box for sharp parts. It has many functions and perform them well. For example I was impressed that I could make minced meat in no time. Looks good too. I had a little problem when the grinder's lid came off unexpectedly and whole machine was covered with nuts. It wasn't ask to clean, partially because central rotating part is not removable. But I would not consider this as a serious glitch. It is a good product, I am very happy about it.

I wanted a food processor to replace the one that broke down about 8 years ago and never got replaced. Wow, they have changed!

I did a great deal of research on this machine. The last time I purchased a food processor I didn’t really know what to look for but there’s a lot of information out in the market place and you have to narrow it down and make your own decisions.

My background is a time served Carpenter and Joiner and I was taught many years ago to always get the best tools you can afford. This paid back dividends by lasting a lifetime. I wish I had applied the same diligence when selecting my last processor. When you think about it, it is a piece of equipment that you want to last the distance! Particularly if its going to get used regularly.

The only negative things I can think off would be the weight of the machine but in our house its left out for use probably three times a week. Then there’s the price! Having said that Pixmania came up trumps. We got a further £8 discount by using my wifes cash back site.

Good machine, good price, quick delivery in a sound condition. No problems and very impressed.
