great cheap tablet.

I bought this tablet for my 10 year old daughter for Christmas expecting little more than a toy at the price.I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. The HD Screen is fantastic for watching Video. The tablet connect,s to the WIFI Internet easily.Apps Open pretty Quickly. It dose not come with the Android market Installed but is easily downloaded Via AppsLib app Arctools. Skype and Gmail work perfectly on it.All in all for the price compared to the Ipad and the Galaxy Tab its a well worth purchase.

Although the Archos doesn't come with Android Market you can download it via AppsLib app Arctools 0.45 which instantly downloads Android Market. The touch screen is Capacitive which is sensitive to touch, the Tablet in general for me was a fabulous investment. the connection to internet is fast,
The apps open in less than 3 seconds of tapping, free music and video downloads, Internet Radio, HD resolution, can be used as ereader for 1000's of downloadable books (same format as Ipad), Battery time up to 10 hrs. The device comes at an affordable price compared to the Ipad. Great for social networking and emails. If you're looking for the Ipad alternative, then this is the device for you. I have no problems with freezing or force closing.

I bought two of these devices for my daughters who wanted Ipads for Christmas. I expected little more than a toy for the purchase price but i am pretty much blown away by the quality and versatility of these neat machines. I had read some quite negative reviews previously about build quality and system bugs, screen viewing angles etc but cannot find fault with it at all. I think the niggles with system bugs have been ironed out with the latest firmware update as everything I have tried has worked fine. Picture quality for movie viewing is superb and the sound for music playback through the built in speakers is more than adequate for anyone one but techno geek types. Internet runs quickly and smoothly. Android Market is not preinstalled but is a doddle to side load with walk through videos available on Youtube. I am pretty much a novice with these things and am just scratching the surface with the functionality of the Archos 101. With Ipads costing upwards of £400 this machine at this price is an absolute gem.
