With an ultra-slim 1.7 cm structure, the Archos 9 WiFi PC
tablet is really just a scaled down laptop filled with smart features
for work and play.
Aside from playing back videos in Full HD and streaming content from
websites such as Deezer, the Archos 9 enables you to connect
with other people using the built-in webcam and microphone. You'll be able to
create documents thanks to the Lotus Symphony suite of office tools, while
vTuner software gives you instant access to over 11,000 web radios and web TV
services. Windows Live is also available for managing e-mail accounts with one
simple program, as well as storing and sharing files.
Running on Microsoft's Windows® 7 Starter OS, the Archos
9 WiFi PC Tablet makes the things you do on a daily basis faster and
easier. You can multitask smoothly with several windows open at the same time,
and the battery life climbs all the way to 5 hours for intensive use. Meanwhile,
the Intel Atom Z515 processor eliminates lag when displaying images.
The 8.9-inch screen on the Archos 9 has LED backlighting and 1024x600-pixel
resolution, and is therefore comfortable to use. On the right, there's an
optical trackpoint for total control with your fingertips. You'll be able to
type on the virtual keypad, browse menus and explore the contents of the 60 GB
hard drive like never before!
The Archos 9 also includes WiFi b/g and
Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR connectivity. You can even hook up a 3G network adapter to
the USB 2.0 port and surf the web.
But that's not all! The Archos 9 features a
two-position leg-stand too, for extreme comfort.
As powerful as a netbook, yet smaller, the Archos 9 is a true
innovation in portable computing!

I've purchased 8 of the old style 'non-SSD' Archos 9 PC's, and thought that they were great, a little slow to boot and with a reasonable battery life. I read that Archos were releasing a SSD version, but was struggling to find a release date onto the UK market.
