Sigma 18-200mm F3.5-6.3 DC Zoom Lens

Very good lense!!

I bought this with my Canon 60D but I wish I hadn't skimped on the lens when buying a fairly expensive camera. This lens is very good except when the subject is against a bright or white background then there is an awful lot of chromatic aberration apparent at all focal lengths. It also tends to seek slowly through the whole focus range when trying to autofocus small or complex subjects and I usually end up having to switch to manual focus out of frustration.

I bought this sigma lens form pixmania as it was cheaper there than any place else, well done on that. This is an excellent lens for the money, it is perfect for every day use because of the range, it is a well made lens, solid and feels good on the camera, it is very nice on the camera too, the pictures are crisp and clear at the lower end but not to bad at the high end either, of course it is great on a bright day, overall i rate this sigma 18-200 lens for cannon at 100% and i am delighted that i made the purchase, I definitely would recommend this lens, it comes with the usual lens cap and back cover, but it also has a petal lens hood, there is no case though.

What can I say ! The performance and price of this lense make it a must buy!
I have a Nikon D200 and usually use Nikon lenses. However, because of the price of this lense, and also having spoken to a few friends who have said these lenses are excellent for the price, I thought I would try one.
Remembering that this lense is well below half of the price that you would expect to pay for an equivalent Nikon/Canon branded lense the performance is excellent. I have not directly compared it to an L lense or something in that class, however, in terms of value for money, it cannot be beaten.

It's focus is fast, it feels pleasant to use and produces great shots. I would have to admin that I would expect better quality glass in a £1000 lense however, in terms of the quality images produced by this lense, it does make you wonder at what level you need to be producing work to qualify the extra price tag.
All in, fabulous value for money.
Buy one, you won't be dissapointed!

This lens won't replace the quality of any Canon L lenses but it is great as a walk around lens for daytime.

It is a pleasure to walk around with. I can leave my other lenses at home. I have only used it for a couple of weeks. So far I am impressed with the zoom, colors and sharpness. (at certain focal lengths) The zoom range is soooo nice. You can go from 18mm to 200mm within a second.

I may end up using this lens more than my L lenses just because it is so convenient.

I hope they make a model with IS and a constant F4 (or F2.8) throughout the zoom range. Also, you should be able to override auto focus without having to switch to manual.
