TomTom launches its online route planner

A route planner is an essential tool for anyone looking to plan their journey in detail before they hit the road. TomTom’s route planner uses real-time and previous traffic information from its HD Traffic™ service (information updated in real-time and at regular intervals) and IQ Routes™ service (average speed in relation to the time and date of the journey from several hundred thousand measurements). It is therefore possible to offer users door-to-door route planning to any address, taking into account real-time and historic information on traffic flows at the planned time of travel. This helps you avoid the school run or steer clear of that nightmare junction in the evening rush hour. The TomTom online route planner also has the advantage of being corrected by users themselves via the Map Share™ service. These modifications are regularly incorporated into the maps to ensure they always stay up to date.
